HMEA In-Service Conference

"Creative Music Teaching in

the 21st Century Classrooms"

Location: University of Hawai`i, Manoa, Music Department

 

The HMEA In-Service Conference Committee is seeking 60 to 90 minutes proposals for the 2023 conference. Our conference theme is, "Creative Music Teaching in the 21st Century Classrooms." Suggested conference topics include, but are not limited to the following: Instrumental and Choral Rehearsal Techniques, Instrumental and Choral Literature, Music Literacy, Assessment, Active Music Making, Music in Special Education, Music Technology, World Music and Advocacy.

 

As part of the HMEA 2023 Conference, instrumental and choral directors are encouraged to sign up to have small groups of students participate. HMEA clinicians will select one or two numbers for each group and offer master classes.

 

We are looking forward to your proposals and coming together to support music education in Hawai'i!
