HAWAI`I ALL-STATE STRING ORCHESTRA
JAN 17-19, 2020
The All-State String Orchestra is an honor group comprised of students from school music departments across the state of Hawai`i. To promote string performance and to provide an opportunity for students from various schools to perform on the same stage, HMEA, the Music Department of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and the American String Teachers Association- Hawai`i Chapter (HASTA) are proud to host the 2020 All-State String Orchestra at the Mānoa campus. This event will be held January 17-19, 2020. All students currently playing in an orchestra ensemble in public and private schools or taking private lessons are eligible to submit their application for an audition through their school or private instructor. All instructors and directors must be a current member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) or HASTA.
Each year, the NAfME organizes the ALL-NATIONAL HONOR ENSEMBLES. The students who perform in these ensembles are chosen from All-State Festivals. Through this event, an opportunity is also
provided to students to perform at the national level.
A limited amount of scholarship will be offered to students based on merit.
