An instrumental music educator for twenty years,
Dr. McCreary holds music degrees from the University of Kansas
(Lawrence), the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of
Hawaii (Manoa). She has been a cellist with the American Institute
of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, the Bel Canto Trio in Texas,
the Honolulu Symphony, the Maui Symphony and the Kona Orchestra. She
has served as guest clinician and conductor for the Hawaii Youth
Symphony, the University of Hawaii Orchestra, the Hawaii Department
of Education, the Kamehameha Schools, and the All-South Honor
Orchestra Conference at the University of Southern Mississippi. She
has served on the executive boards for the Hawaii Music Educators
Association, the Hawaii String Teachers Association, and the Hawaii
Arts First Partnership. Currently, Dr. McCreary is Assistant
Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Music Programs at
Hawaii Pacific University.

Beth Uale was born in Glendale, California. She graduated from Blair High School in Pasadena, received her Bachelors degree in Music from BYU- Hawaii in 1985, her Professional Diploma in Secondary Music Education from the University of Hawaii in December of 1996, and her MA in Music Education from the University of Hawaii in August of 1999. She began teaching private music lessons in 1985 and has been teaching music at various private and public schools in Hawaii for the past 13 years.

Dr. Barbara McLain is currently an Associate Professor and coordinator of the Online Master of Arts Degree program at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. At UH, in addition to developing and teaching online graduate courses, she regularly teaches undergraduate courses in Beginning Conducting, Secondary Instrumental Teaching Methods, Brass Methods, Music Technology for Teachers and supervises all student teachers. |
